When testifying, state your name and community you are from. Use personal stories of how you have been affected by the moratoriums, avoid saying negative things about tenants but rather focus on your situation. Tell legislators your concerns that we do not have enough funding to cover all unpaid rent from the moratorium periods and more money is needed for the Landlord Compensation Fund. Let them know you support Senate Bill 330, a tax credit for unpaid rents, as another tool to help landlords affected by the moratoriums. Tell legislators about the biggest problem facing Oregon, the lack of housing. Tell legislators they should be focused on promoting more rental housing instead of adding more regulation and legislation that discourages investment in housing.
